Updated code samples for "Programming Indigo"

February 21st, 2006 No comments

I’m just about to wrap up “Programming Indigo”, an MSPress book about Windows Communication Foundation. It’s been a great resource for wrapping my brain around the basics of WCF, althought it’s a bit redundant at times and probably could have been about 100 or so pages shorter.

I’ve been reading it on the train to and from work and at lunch, but I haven’t been doing the code samples. Well, once I got down to business and started following the samples, I noticed that the API had undergone some drastic changes. Enough so that I had trouble even getting the “Hello World” sample running…luckily enough, I stumbled onto updated code samples for “Programming Indigo” published by the author, Dan Pallman. Cool!

Dave Chapelle: "You haven't seen the last of me"

Alright, that headline is cheating a bit. That’s actually a line from the trailer for his Block Party DVD.

I don’t watch Oprah, so I wasn’t aware of Dave Chapelle’s appearance on the Friday edition of Oprah. Dave floats the idea of returning to his show, on the condition that Comedy Central agree to donate a portion of the proceeds from his DVD sales to charity…which sounds pretty silly to me. I may have to watch Dave’s upcoming appearance on “Inside the Actors Studio” after-all.
